Lagos Govt. to Close Third Mainland Bridge January 9

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has announced that The Third Mainland Bridge will be closed on January 9, 2024.

LASG made this known in a statement on Friday, stressing that the closure is as a result of the work that commenced on the axis in November.

“The Lagos State Government wishes to inform the public that emergency repairs of The Third Mainland Bridge will continue with the closure of Iyana Oworonshoki – Adeniji Adele bound by 11am on Tuesday 9th January 2024.

“The closure is for effective repairs of the entire section of the bridge and is part of the ongoing work that started in November, focusing on fixing the ramps, and now, the remaining parts of the bridge will also be repaired,” the statement reads in part.

However, it disclosed that arrangements have been made for the ease of commuting.

“From 12am to 12 noon, the bridge is open for Mainland to Island travel, while those who intend to come from the Island to the Mainland are advised to use Eko Bridge.

“Conversely, from 12 noon to 12am, Motorists will be able to access the bridge from the Island to the Mainland, while those that want to go from the Mainland to the Island will have to use Eko Bridge.”
